YEL, formed in 2011 as an SPV, aimed to develop a 50 MW Wind Power Project in Deh Kohistan, Jhimpir, District Thatta. This initiative, under Pakistan’s Renewable Energy Policy 2006, marked a pioneering effort in wind energy generation, encouraging investments in the sector despite challenges. Spanning 696 acres, GOP subleased land and assured power purchaser performance, facilitating power evacuation and payment.

Its exclusive focus lies in developing a 50 MW Wind Power Project in Deh Kohistan, Jhimpir, District Thatta, aligned with Pakistan’s Renewable Energy Policy 2006. Awarded the Cost Plus Tariff in 2018 by NEPRA, LRPL received GOP guarantees for power purchaser performance. The Government of Sindh leased 347 acres for the project. LRPL boasts 25 WTGs of 2 MW each, employing cutting-edge Spanish technology from Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy China.

LEPL focuses on maximizing efficiency and minimizing thermal resource usage, employing advanced technologies like Waste Heat Recovery boilers and absorption chillers. Recently, it installed 3 x 12.2 MW Wartsila engines, known for their efficiency, recognized by Guinness Book of World Records

In 2012, aiming to foster a corporate culture, the management transitioned the partnership into a public limited company named Y.B. Pakistan Limited. Presently, the company focuses on capital investments, with a portfolio comprising strategic investments in associated companies, the capital and money markets, and Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs).
